Hairy biped is a term coined by American cryptozoologist Jerome Clark to classify Bigfoot sightings outside of the Pacific Northwest region.[1][2] The term is not used to refer to other cryptid hominids such as the yeti or the yowie, or certain North American cryptids such as the Fouke monster or the skunk ape. Similar terms used for Bigfoot classification include wood ape and North American ape.
